Giro

Giro, based in Scotts Valley, California, is a global leader in high-performance protective clothing and accessories for action sports and active lifestyles. In 1985, industrial designer and biker Jim Gentes had a great idea - a completely new bicycle helmet. In a garage he implemented this idea together with a few friends. The result was a company that allowed bikers to go beyond the scope of conventional thinking. Jim Gentes borrowed the name Giro from the Giro d'Italia. The Italian word "giro" means "round trip" or "turn" and symbolizes one of our core beliefs: Everything moves in circles. Whatever we do at Giro serves to improve the feeling of riding a bike. We construct each connection point in such a way that nothing comes between the biker and his experience. Performance, design, protection: all of this together deepens the feeling of freedom and independence that has always thrilled us about riding a bike.
