This is Schnitzler art! In 1938, Alfred Trauffer, the grandfather of the current owner of Trauffer Holzspielwaren AG, founded his company with such artistic craftsmanship. Even today, the "Edition 1938" and "Pro Specie Rara" collections are still carved in this highly elaborate and artistic way. All "Edition 1938" and "Pro Specie Rara" products are made by hand in the Bernese Oberland with an extra portion of love. Made from certified FSC lime wood from sustainable Swiss sources and with paints that are completely safe for children. Suitable for playing - but almost too good to be true.

In 1938 Alfred Trauffer began to carve cows and other animals in simple, concrete forms, his wife Rosa Trauffer-Michel lovingly painted them by hand. Trauffer's quality toys are still produced in the family business today and have been a source of enthusiasm to thousands of fans worldwide ever since.
